I guess it’s fitting to start this tumblr dedicated to my idealistic notion of “the girlfriend” with a songstress’s tribute to her guy. Since she first blew up, I enjoyed Corinne Bailey Rae’s music as cathartic escapism, but I didn’t really keep up with her after she went off the radar since her husband’s passing. I actually didn’t know she came out with a new album until late last year. You can tell her life events shaped her in this new album. I really like her little tidbit at the beginning about the spontaneity when writing this song. Enjoy.
